I continue to encourage you to read from the book of Luke during this series. We can’t read everything during worship, and yet, there is something important about hearing the whole of a given message out of the books of the Bible. Luke has a certain mindset and you’ll hear the Word better and more specifically on Sunday if you are in that mindset during the week as well.
This week, we’ll look at the beginning of the “Sermon on the Plain”, which is Luke’s version of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount in Matthew. Let me tell you: reading these words from Jesus is very challenging, to what level can we uphold what he is asking?
He wouldn’t ask us to do something that he does not do himself, and thus, as his followers, we follow suit. Give the passages a read.
